327 women saw their wealth increase by billions this year, with many of them climbing the ranks to become some of the richest people in the world. These women are now collectively worth $1.53 trillion, which is an increase of over 60 percent from last year. This trend looks like it's here to stay, so we can expect even more female billionaires in the years to come.

These are the CEOs of Loreal, Amazon, Koch Industries, and even Bumble-yes, you read that correctly! Even though we're not including all of them on this list (we had to pick favourites), some of these ladies share their fortunes with siblings, husbands and children. So without further ado let's get started!

Francoise Bettencourt Meyers

Francoise Bettencourt Meyers was born to a religious Catholic family in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France on July 10, 1953. She has delved into Jewish-Christian relations and written multiple books discussing interpretations of the Bible.Her grandfather is Eugene Schueller, the inventor of L'Oreal.

After an out-of-court settlement in 2008, Francoise became one of the top twenty wealthiest women in the world with a fortune totaling $39.5 billion. She is now classified as the richest woman on earth following her mother's death in September 2017.

Alice Walton

Alice Louise Walton is an American heiress to the fortune of Walmart. She is Sam Walton's daughter. In the last year, she made $7.4 billion due to Walmart stock climbing more than 5% since mid-March 2020. Additionally, free shipping as part of an Amazon Prime-like subscription service helped raise online sales 69 percent in the year through January for the retailer.

Jolia Koch

Julia Koch is an American socialite and the widow of David Koch.After he passed away in 2019, she acquired his wealth, which included 42% ownership of Koch Industries. Last year, Koch industries was America's largest private company by sales. Julia's husband's brother Charles is chair of the management board for this billion-dollar company.

Mackenzie Scott

Jeff and Mackenzie Scott divorced in 2019 after being married for 25 years. As part of the settlement, Jeff gave MacKenzie 4% of his Amazon stock, which amounted to 25% of the firm. She is currently ranked 20th on the list of world's richest people.

Yang Huiyan

In 2007, at only 25 years old, Yang Huiyan became a multi-billionaire overnight when her father handed 70 percent of his shares in Country Garden Holdings to her before taking the company public in Hong Kong. Born in China and now a Cyprus citizen, Yang Huiyan is also a renowned real estate developer and millionaire entrepreneur. She is currently the largest stakeholder of Country Garden Holdings--a title primarily passed down to her by her father, Yang Guoqiang.

Miriam Adelson

The Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship was given to Miriam and Sheldon Adelson by the Smithsonian Institution's Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in 2008. Dr. Miriam Adelson, an American-Israeli doctor, married U.S businessman Sheldon Adelson in 1991 and subsequently became a contributor to right wing political groups based in both countries.

She was granted honorary citizenship of Jerusalem in 2013 and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Donald Trump in 2018. According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Adelson is the 44th wealthiest person in the world, 5th wealthiest woman, and richest Israeli as of June 2021 with an estimated net worth of US$29.6 billion.

Laurene Powell Jobs

Laurene Powell Jobs is the widow of Steve Jobs, who was famously known for his work as the co-founder of Apple. In 2004, she formed Emerson Collective, an LLC promoting social equality and immigration policies. She's also a staunch supporter of prominent Democratic leaders like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. As well as being the co-founder and president of College Track - an institution aiding underprivileged high schoolers in preparing for college - Powell Jobs resides Palo Alto, California with her three children.

Susanne Klatten

Susanne Klatten is the daughter of Johanna and Herbert Quandt. The Bloomberg Billionaires Index estimated her net worth at US$27.7 billion in November 2021, making her not only the wealthiest woman in Germany but also 65th richest person globally.

She pursued a management and marketing course at England's University of Buckingham before obtaining an MBA in advertising from Switzerland's IMD Business School.

After her father's death, she inherited 50.1 percent ownership of the chemical and pharmaceutical company Altana. Additionally, she is a member of the supervisory board who helped with transforming Altana into one of Germany DAX index's top 30 corporations.
